JNoble Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 (edited) That's a very nice tinnie you have there. VDA stands for Volksbund f?r das Deutschtum im Ausland (Peoples federation for the Germans in foreign counties).James. Edited December 8, 2007 by JNoble
Scowen Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Actually, it's VDA.Robert is correct. With the Gothic Fractur font used at this time, the capitol V often looked like a captal B. This can often make translating period documents quite difficult. The section below shows the capital V in use from a period publication, it says "Standsch?tzenverbandes Tirol-Vorarlberg"CheersDon
BURGERHAUS Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 (edited) An enamel VDA Not quite as much of a bend in the V. Robert I will check over my other tinnies and post some of them. Have a nice weekend and congratulations James! Edited December 8, 2007 by BURGERHAUS
BURGERHAUS Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 (edited) Another VDA I was fortunate enough to get this one from John Bart. I often wonder about him as he has a tremendous collection. Notive how the V is not completely connected on this one. Edited December 8, 2007 by BURGERHAUS
