Guest Rick Research Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 First time I've seen one of these! Civil police? "Interior troops?" State security? National Parks Service?
Taz Posted January 6, 2008 Author Posted January 6, 2008 Hi Rick,Being a Ministerio del Interior award the following branchs would qualify for this award:The Border Guard Troops, the National Revolutionary Police, Special Forces Troops, Department of State Security Force and the Department of General Intelligence. Regards Eddie.
Taz Posted January 6, 2008 Author Posted January 6, 2008 (edited) Rick,The National Revolutionary Police, Polic?a Nacional Revolucionaria (PNR) is the "normal" Police, that's just it's official name. The PNR duties include uniform policing, criminal investigation, crime prevention, juvenile delinquency, and traffic control. The PNR is divided into municipal divisions, each with its own police chief. These local police agencies are responsible to the national directorate of the PNR, through a hierarchical structure that incorporates provincial levels of oversight. The Security division of MINIT is responsible for policing crimes such as espionage, sabotage and other offenses against the state security. The Ministry of the Interior and the National Revolutionary Police have been closely integrated with the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) since the revolutionary victory of 1959.In addition to formal policing by the PNR, the Cuban system of control utilizes the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) as auxiliary eyes and ears of the police. The CDR maintains nightly neighborhood watches known as la guardia to prevent crime. They deal with juvenile deviance and assist crime victims.Regards Eddie. Edited January 6, 2008 by Taz
Guest Rick Research Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Ah-- right back to the original "blanket" coverage model of the pre-World War Soviet NKVD as an umbrella organization covering EVERYTHING!
Grant Broadhurst Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Here is mine , my first ever Cuban award and it came from Bulgaria of all places ! :speechless:
Guest Rick Research Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Good place to start since this one doesn't turn up, from what we see. Still no clue about numbers awarded etc.
