Guest Rick Research
This is a little one (unlike the monstrously huge Military Academy badges) that I'll show first next to a 1946-56 Soviet University Graduate badge that I also picked up at today's show, for size comparisonLike the gigantic Military Academy badgtes, it is made by Zukov (mark "Zukov O2" on the screw dissk only),and the badge and screw disk are obviously silver, though unhallmarked. The screwplate is silvered on one side and brass on the other. The lion appears to have never been silvered, unless that's worn off the brass:Unfortunately, since the lion is a pronged-on separate piece, at some point it got squeezed on the back leg, fracturing out the red enamel from the star there. But look at kitty's tummy-- that is the OLD Czech shield, not the Communist model--sitting on a red star!So is this from the period around the 1948 coup?P = ???Political ?Police ?Pedagogical ? Guest Rick Research
Didn't expect that-- or that it could be so late, from the "old style" lion! TERRIFIC list for the abbreviations!
