Guest Rick Research Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 These little pins came in with a mixed batch from Hungary. The "GMA" badge is some light but hard white metal with decent enamel. The school student (whatever an "inotator" is) diving board pin has Orders quality enamel and is heavy metal.I have absolutely no clue about these. The Hungarian pins these came with seem to span early 1950s to late 1970s.The Inotator Scolar is marked "PMS" on one side of the pin and "ARAD" on the other. The "GMA" is very crudely ? serial numbered.
Carol I Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 GMA is the acronym of Gata pentru Muncă şi Apărare (Ready for Work and Defence), a paramilitary training program of Soviet inspiration that was abandoned in the 1960s (I presume).?notător means swimmer, so ?notător Şcolar would translate into School Swimmer.
