1900 War Medal (Boxer Rebellion) for review please

Hello,

I have an opportunity to acquire this medal but have a concern with regards to the swivel suspender on the reverse. It appears to have a pin inserted as you can see in the photograph. Might it be a repair or were some made this way? It would appear that while striking the pin the medal was also impacted. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated as the expenditure for this one will be significant.

Hi Stu,

It has been repaired (and rather crudely at that). I would hold out for a better example unless you are getting a considerable discount on the normal price.

So true. Yet the 'normal price' is pretty high these dark days?
