Graham Stewart Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 RNF TA - Xmas 1936.Hopefully my St.Georges Gazettes will confirm the identity of the Bn.
leigh kitchen Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 Ah, I collect old military christmas cards, don't think I've got much in the way of NF ones though.......
Graham Stewart Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 (edited) Leigh,It would be nice to see any additional NF Xmas that aren't illustrated here. As for that TA 1936 card the St.Georges Gazette for that year doesn't have the officers group photo's in it, so I haven't identified the Bn.We also have the regimental journal, but the covers changed over time this is a much later edition. Graham Stewart Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Plus ones which are rarely seen. Not sure how many editions this 'newspaper' for 3rd Ind MG Coy ran to, but I know that there is No.1, 2 & 3.
Graham Stewart Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 You also have 34th Div Year Book, which ran for many, many years after the Great War. A very informative booklet, which was used extensively when John Sheen & I wrote "Tyneside Scottish".
Graham Stewart Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 An ealier St.Georges Gazette with an unusual coloured cover. Ones ealier than this had a green cover but I'm unable to find one.
leigh kitchen Posted October 15, 2008 Author Posted October 15, 2008 Picked up at Greenwch Market a few weeks ago, "The Officers, 2/5th Fusiliers, St. George's Day".Presumably taken the same day or a year or so either side of the photograph shown in post no. 57.This card is one of "The Wellington Series".
