Guest Rick Research Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Another pickup today-- Junior Lieutenant Ilya Mitrofanovich Zadorzhko wearing M1936 Chemical & Gas Troops branch insignia. Undated and unfortunately the stamp for his unit is illegible.Closeup of this seldom seen insignia:In addition to his resemblance to Dwight D. Eisenhower... the obvious question is: why are so many hats SMALL sized?
Verdun16 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Hi Rick, Here's one for you with a date and maybe a unit,Bryan
Guest Rick Research Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I guess the Ethnic Minority Comrades got the icky lethal jobs--Lieutenant Iosif Zalmanoshevovich Iglitschyn, on 2.6.41 attested by an Intendant 3rd Rank at the Kalininsky Military School of Chemical Defense of the WPRA. Mine's been scribbled over, voiding the assignment as is often seen with these file photos.
Verdun16 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Hi Rick, Thanks again for the translation. It's not that icky of a job . I've been doing something similar for the past 19 years, just for another govermentBryan
Guest Rick Research Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 But I think back then it was probably more handling POISON old WW1-style gas than Gas "Defense."
Verdun16 Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 (edited) I don't mind at all to not handle the stuffBryan Edited March 29, 2008 by Verdun16
