    Hello

I wonder if it is possible to identify the RAF officer in the picture. The photo that i have posted, is a close up of the officer, so the original is larger. The photo shows this officer, and other people, inspecting bomb damage, to a city street. The officer, and a man possibly in RN uniform, are the only ones in uniform. I found the photo, at a car boot sale, along with other home front photo's.

    Snoopy,

His Royal Highness Prince George, Duke of Kent. He was the fourth son of King George V, born 20 December 1902. He was killed in the crash of a Royal Air Force Sunderland flying boat in northern Scotland on 25 August 1942 while en route to Iceland.

At the time of his death he was Chief Welfare Officer of the R.A.F. Home Command and had recently been promoted to the rank of Air Commodore.

    Cheers, Ken
