    Dear Sirs ,

I just wish to know , does the ORIGINAL St.Stephan Grand Cross Owners

BREAST STAR has any hallmark or stamp on the back of the Breast Star ?

Can a St.Stephan Breast star , 90 mm , Excellent Enamel and total workship ,

WITHOUT any kind of hallmarks or stamps be ORIGINAL ?

As I know many of the Rothe Wien ones has the Rothe Stamp on the back.

Quick replies will be most appreciate ,

    Thanks in advance ,

    Hello,

I've seen original breast stars of the St. Stephen's order either bearing hallmarks or not. Most of them have the marks of Rothe on the pin and on the reverse centre medallion; if the piece was made after 1867, it should also be struck with the silver assay marks.

A picture of the piece would help a lot to give a more exact opinion.

    Best wishes,

    Elmar Lang
