JBFloyd Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Austrian Iron Cross of Merit, without crown. Worn on the bravery ribbon (red laddered ribbon).
notned Posted October 7, 2005 Author Posted October 7, 2005 Thanks JB,Now whats one of these worth? as i may buy it if the price is right..Cheers,Paul
Stogieman Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 No ribbon and rough....... like this, maybe $25. Tough to find an original trifold to replace the missing ribbon. Peace-time award would be on the solid red civil ribbon
Guest Rick Research Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Although instituted presuming eventual post-war peacetime awards, and sometimes sold on them, these were never actually awarded except on the war (bravery) ribbon. It's an odd award-- given specifically to "privates over 50" for being in uniform at all, and otherwise more for technical troops doing things that did not equate with actual bravery. There was also a grade with crown. Think of it as approximating a WW2 KVK2X specifically for privates.
