Tom Y
In the process of cataloging my eclection I've come across some mm's on EKII's that have me , but this is the biggest hair puller of all. I've tried my camera, scanner at every dpi from 600 to 9400 and various gamma settings, loupe, and Ouija Board, but still can't figure it out. Wish I had an electron microscope. Anyone want to take a guess? It has a distictive core with a joined 813 on the reverse and looks like it might have been blackened rather than painted and the frame passes the "lick test" for silver, but the mm looks like it was done with a broken punch.Any guesses? Guest Rick Research
Try it in black and white. The colors of the patina are acting as dazzle camouflage.I'm not sure which side is up or down, which further confuses old tired brains.Or it is the Chinese character for "soup." :catjava:

Mike K
Hi Tom,No idea yet. Instead of digitally flipping the image like in post 3, try scanning again but acutally moving the cross/ring through 0, 90, 180 and 270 degress.RegardsMike
