Eric Stahlhut Posted July 20, 2008 Author Posted July 20, 2008 (edited) with the advent of the gold rush in alaska during the turn of the century, seattle was a boom town. years later, seattle focused on airplanes, computers, porn, and beer--among other things!back in the day, there was a large and wealthy population of german immigrants who had strong ties and a lot of pride in the old country. there were many many businesses, restaurants, beer halls, etc. and there was a huge meeting hall for the german veteran community. it was very successful. everything was dismantled by the time ww1 rolled around.here is one of the few remaining reminders of a different time.
