Brian R Posted July 23, 2008 Share Posted July 23, 2008 A sad, but interesting group to a Matrosenobergefreiten of 1. Transportflotille II. Gruppe. He was wounded, probably by Allied aircraft, on February, 18, 1944 during the height of the fighting Monte Cassino and the Gustov line. He was initially awarded the BWB but his award was upgraded to a SWB; probably when he finally lost a limb. His EK2 followed on April 18th.
