Wounded stripe

It is quite dull actually. The flash from the camera makes it look very untarnished but it is obviously one that was never issued.

Check the original thread on Wound Stripes Tony, Tiger Pie's posts 26 & 32 refer to a stripe with that style of backing plate, he psots them as Australian & of cousrse your actual stripe is marked to a British manufacturer.

Well I'll be buggered. I can now answer my own question to post 32 - there is no patent number.
