Eric Stahlhut
funny how there wasn't anything in the case to relate the owner to saxony other than the jeweler's tag Edited September 21, 2008 by Eric Stahlhut
Riley1965
:jumping: WOW!!! I don't think that I've seen a presentation case so nice. Although it is not my area of study, I love this!!! Doc
NavalMark
Nice case, but it is a typical case for silver tea-spoons or knifes or ...... something else. The satin on the bottom is typical folded to contain 6 pieces. Please check if the satin has been opened and perhaps wooden pieces to hold spoons or knifes were removed from the bottom. Those manipulations are very popular at this time in Germany.Best regardsNavalMark
Eric Stahlhut
nope, the satin is firmly intact and the black/white cord is firmly attached to the edges of case. i ran my fingers over the inside bottom of case and cannot feel any bumps, ridges, or indentations that would indicate anything previously having been under the satin... dond
I would expect that a Saxon that received both classes of the EK would have gotten something from his own state.
Eric Stahlhut
I would expect that a Saxon that received both classes of the EK would have gotten something from his own state.yep! i alluded to that in post #4. who knows?also: the level of tarnish on the ek1 doesn't match that of the ek2. and the w/b shows hardly any wear. (i'm probably merely being too picky) tho!
