Oder Front 1945 - Russian Info about Assaults at Nipperwiese?

    Recommended Posts

I seek "Russian Side Info" about Assaults at Nipperwiese (Ognica, PL).

The battles took place between Oder-Channel and Oder in April 1945.

I have all german side info but found very less details

referring the battles of my father's bataillon:

    III./FschJgEuARgt.1/547.VGD/XXXXVI.PzK/3.PzA/H.G.Weichsel

    Action-Zone: Gatow - Schwedter/Nipperwieser Querfahrt.

    FPN: L 63170 D, LGPA.Berlin

    Russian Experts - please help!

III./FschJgEuARgt.1 was also called "Bataillon REIL"

because of its commander Major Rudolf Reil.

After heavy battles 14.-20.04. Btl.REIL was strengthened

and directly subordinated to 547.VGD as "Regiment REIL":

    Rgt."REIL"/547.VGD/XXXXVI.PzK/3.PzA/HG.Weichsel

    Action-Zone: Gatow - Schwedter/Nipperwieser Querfahrt.

Northern neighbour was Netherlands second SS-Regiment:

    SS-PzGrRgt."de Ruyter"/547.VGD/XXXXVI.PzK/3.PzA/H.G.Weichsel

    Action-Zone: Gartz - Gatow

    Southern neighbour was Grenadier-Regiment 1092 of 547.VGD:

    GrenReg.1092/547.VGD/XXXXVI.PzK/3.PzA/H.G.Weichsel

    Action-Zone: Schwedter/Nipperwieser Querfahrt - Criewen

    Dear Irmin,

I am not a Russian expert with some access to the military archives in the former Soviet Union, but there a few of these genuine experts here at GMIC.

I found that information (in German language) for you: http://www.stendell.de/Aktuelles/2008/item...-Ballentin.html .

For getting into contact with Russian experts in military history I would recommend to post your topic at the Soviet-section here at GMIC: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showforum=127 .

    Best regards
