Riley1965 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Would somone please translate this name? Doc
Guest Rick Research Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 :Cat-Scratch: Yikeys!!!!Volodina-BordyugovaYefrosen'yaIvanovnaOr in normal order, lady comrade was Yefrosen'ya Ivanovna Volodina-Bordyugova. Exact transliteration always depends on where and in when and in what language one alters Cyrillic into Roman letters. You could also render her first name as Efrosenia etc etc. I learned Russian in the depths of Brezhnev's tenure in the bad old 1970s, which may not be what is taught nowadays.
Riley1965 Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 Hello Rick, Thank You!!! I am trying to learn to read cyrillic handwriting. Doc
Guest Rick Research Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Whoever filled out that Orders Book did so quite neatly. Sometimes it can be quite since a scribble is a scribble in ANY language.FIRST they shot the barbers, THEN they shot anyone with neat penmanship. After that... it was an interesting half century....
