larsb001
Hello All.I have had the below Preussian Pilots badge for some time. I bought it as a miniature but in my opinion it is not. It measures 20 * 35 mm inclusive of the ring but without any chain links. It's simply too large to fit into any miniature group! It came with the small chain attached and assuming that it have originally been there it could indicate that it have at one time been used as a pendant to a key-ring or similar. But the details tells me it's not just a "key-ring pendant". It's quite worn, have at one time been silvered although most have disappeared. I'm not sure of what the base metal is.Any ideas of what this have been used for? Any information is appreciated.Regards, Lars
Guest Rick Research
I think it was probably made as the fob for a pocket watch. It would have looked very nice hanging on a vest pocket.
larsb001
Thanks Rick, I believe that's actually a qualified guess, I'll stick with that. It seems that nobody really knows what this has been used for.Lars
