Iver Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Hi..I have found this medal, but don?t know what exactly it is...
JBFloyd Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 It appears to be the medal of a worker's union in Naples to "associate" Giuseppe Opalka.
JimZ Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Translated the obverse reads:"Union of Workers Umberto I - Naples"Reverse reads:"Always forward (stright ahead) Savoy" and below it: " To member Giuseppe Opalka"Cannot add much more to that!
Iver Posted December 10, 2008 Author Posted December 10, 2008 (edited) Thanks for translation... Is there any chance to find out something about that "workers union" or tis medal? For what was that medal giving, how many awards there were.... atc..? As far as I know, this Giuseppe Opalka was czech citizen - Josef Op?lka... why was he awarded italian "workers" medal?
