Schwartzvogel2008
Guys,I`m trying to identify the cap bagde to a CCF unit, I was in as a child. The badge as I remember had a red triangle as backing, and maybe a dragon or sphinx, which was only small. The CCF unit was in Wokingham, England. Can anyone help me to identify which Regiment it was?SV
leigh kitchen
Inverted red cloth triangular backing with a yellow metal or gold anodised aluminium Chinese dragon over a scroll would be the Royal Berkshire Regiment...........Have'nt got books to hand, but presumably it's the badge of the Royal Berkshire Regiment with the school's name in the scroll instead of that of the regiment, or it's the badge of the regment. bigjarofwasps
I`m not expert, but I thought maybe the Duke of Edinburgh`s Royal Regiment?
Schwartzvogel2008
Many thanks. My memory is very foggy, could be either of these Regiments, if I was to say the school was called Bearwood College, and I was there in the mid 1980`s would that help narrow it down any?SV
leigh kitchen
Mid-80's sounds like it's going to be the DERR badge rather than the R. Berks badge by that time then. The dragon appears in the centre of the DERR badge, the R. Berks badge was a large (in comparison to the entire cap badge of the DERRs) gold coloured dragon with a scroll beneath it: Edited January 4, 2009 by leigh kitchen
