Is there something unusual about the uniform? To me it looks like a standard wafffenrock, the 'dress uniform' of the German Army in WWII.

without white waffenfarbe underlay on his collar or cuff patchs. :speechless1:

For a moment I thought this was a case of a medal collector confused by uniforms, but I suspected I would be proven wrong.

That is strange. The insignia must have been direct-embroidered on to the uniform. Very very strange.
