    Good Morning,

My Russian friend, Vilen, was a Lt. in the Soviet Parachute Regiment. His Father was a Colonel of the Medical Service and would like a uniform to put together with his Father's awards. Would a M55 uniform still be in use in 1960's? If it was I'm going to give him one of my Medical Service Colonel's uniforms.

The M1955 dress uniform was replaced in 1958. M1958 regulations remained largely in effect until the changes of 1969.

Pick a year! :cheeky: Things kept changing in the 1950s-- colors, tailoring, width of boards :speechless1: . After 1958 things look like the 1969 uniforms only still cactus green instead of mud khaki.

Easier if you decide on a specific time to duplicate a display and then find the correct hat that goes with THAT tunic with THOSE boards etc etc.

It's easier from 1969 when nothing changed until the end.

I haven't found ANY older uniform items in years, now, but I learned back in the Happy Mid-90s to prefer a jacket that already came with the right pants... because it is difficult if not "impossible" to match up the older models of gear. Everything has dried up now except for 1980s type surplus.

Ah, for the days when I dug what was a complete M1946 Police general's head-to-ankles out of a jumbled mass of caps, tunics, and breeches in a refrigerator's cardboard box! :cheeky:
