    Is the first award entry saxe coburg gotha merit medal with swords ? can anybody help with the first section previously he was in IR95 before the War thanks Mark

    Not if he made Sergeant in 1918 but was drafted in 1903. Sergeant was reached by career NCOs about 5 years into their 12 year terms-- and they received long service awards. Your whoever it is was a reservist of some variety.

    Herr Hauck, Kaufmann of Coburg, made it to Leutnant der Landwehr and as commander of 2nd Company/ Res Inf Rgt 233 received the EH3bX and SMK (award rolls published last year :rolleyes: )

    "Magic" can be done with the right names and the right reference sources produced by the most noble, selfless, dedicated, and don't-get-out-enough of persons....
