    EK II medal bars

    Recommended Posts

Where do all these EKII+ehrenkreuz fur frontk?mpfer bars on the net come from?

There seem to be hundreds of them around.

Is this a wave of fakes?

Quite likely, the medals I'm sure are genuine as there are thousands around,? but the bars, ????

    regards

    Alex

I saw an online store that offered these as originals.

There was a box where you could select the amount.

It went up to 12 or something.

Well if they are originals and you pay the price for single medals, not a bar...

    I guess there's worse things...

So you could create your own "Rack" to order from original medals :speechless1: I believe from other threads, that these are coming out of Austria amongst other places

Sorry Alex K its an obvious fake as it should be:-

    1. Prussian Iron Cross 1914 II Class, with Combatant Ribbon,

    2. Hindenburg Combatant Cross with swords.

    3. Prussian Iron Cross 1914 II Class, non-combatant ribbon

    4. Hindenburg Non-Combatant Cross without swords.

    5. Prussian Iron Cross 1914, II Class with Combatant Ribbon

    6. Hindenburg Widows Cross without swords.

The owner would have been in the line or up the line,

after being wounded in combat he

worked as a non-combatant stretcher bearer, again being wounded,

after being treated for wounds he was sent home after receiving news that his son had been killed in combat.

For his dedication to duty the Kaiser ordered an extra EK II Class on a non-combatant ribbon for him

    Kevin in Deva

Obviously a very dedicated soldier recognised by the Kaiser for such heroic deeds  (It's obviously a Photoshop pun, intended to highlight the various spurious bars which seem to be appearing.), however no doubt one is bound to appear on E-bay at some stage I'm sure. I suppose I could have added the 1870,1939, 1957 versions of the EK at the same time to recognise his extremely long service!
