Ulsterman Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Ugh!Can you reverse the colors to darken the ink?
Guest Rick Research Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Uh.........You have to do SOMETHING with contrast at your end-- back to good old dark setting on a xerox machine black and white. All I get out of that is "Hauptmann.........."The date is also of major importance.Absolutely Not There looking at scans of.... nothing visible.
Guest Rick Research Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 :cheeky: Black and white FLAT-- F-L-A-T-- xerox machine. Also: what award loops are on it?
DonC Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 (edited) What's a Xerox?? Let me see what I can do, Rick - Thanks! Absolutely no award loops - only an EKII Spange -hence the mystery.Don Edited March 9, 2009 by DonC
Guest Rick Research Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Well, since Glenn J has found the Mother Lode of secret wartime Wehrmacht Seniority Lists, if it IS ever legible, should be no problem-- aside from paging through thousands of unindexed pages. It LOOKS to me as if there MIGHT be TWO capital letters on the name line, for a first and last name not necessarily in that order. But guessing is pointless. Got to SEE.Meanwhile try--this requires an assitant-- FLATTENING that down and using a black and white setting. The wrinkles and color distortions are distracting from the faded ink.
