Guest Rick Research Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 From the size-- are these for sun helmets, worn centered on that lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvely super sized tricolor forehead target?
Paul R Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Close... but not a sun helmet!!Nice emblems for a Bersalgieri Dress Caps...http://www.germanmilitaria.com/OtherNation...os/C005460.html
RRA227 Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Kev,Thanks. I did make a error. The Transport is the late type. I should have looked it up and not gone by hung-over memory. Carlsburg Elephants are killer. These emblems are used on sun helmets. I have 2 of the early type with the national coulor coccade on the rear that were removed from sun melmets. These are also used on some peaked caps of lower quality. Rich A. in Pa.

RRA227 Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Paul R. It could be used on either. Putting a hand embroidered bullion badge on a cap would make it more costly. Depends on how much the person wanted to pay for his hat. These badges were also installed on the steel helmet. Rich A. in Pa.
