    Typical Document Groups

With many thanks to Greg  a complete (?) set of SIX award booklets for a revolutionary Se?ora has come in. This may suggest what a "typical" group MIGHT be--

    1) Combatant of the Clandestine Struggle (2 December 1981)-- see thread on that Medal for more on that award

    2) Combatant of the War of Liberation (2 December 1982) see thread on that Medal with scans there of her award booklet

    3) 30th Anniversary of the Revolutionary Armed Forces Medal (2 December 1986). Checking the 20th Anniversary FAR Medal thread, THAT required 15 years+ of active duty in 1976. But the presence of this 30th Anniversary Medal to a female former insurgent suggest that OTHER veterans of the revoltion were made eligible for the 1986 (and 1996 and 2006?) anniversary medals.

    4) Literacy ("Alfabetizacion") Medal-- as all others have been oserved, same date 22 December 1986. A teacher? Or was this more widely awarded on basically all party cadre or... ????

    5) Medal of 28th September. Hers refers to Decree 139 of 26 November 1984 (initial awards?) with a date at the end of January 1985 suggesting delays in mass bestowals, at least at the first time these were handed out. Presumably as the Communist Neighbors-Watching-Neighbors Committees still exist, these are still being awarded at least annually. Any other years/dates please post in the thread on "28 September" Medals.

    6) Medal of 23rd August (29 November 1986). Various dates for the "Commie Mommie" Association have turned up.

SIX awards is the largest still intact paperwork grouping that I have encountered. There was not one of the labor front awards for long service in any specific occupation in this group, which (ah, such early days of knowledge) may or may not be significant, eh?
