EK 1939 Suspicious Shinkel?

I have always had doubts about this EK1 but does anyone know for sure?

The cross and catch are magnetic but I have not seen this type of Shinkel before.

The whole setup on the back is wrong. There are no known maker marked schinkels. I don't have access to my photos to post a picture of one (I just returned to the States and computer is in transit) but hopefully someone else will chime in. I would not buy this one. Jim

i agree with jim.

this "version" has the remnant slag

in each of the corners on the inside

of the frame, and the frame itself

has nothing of the delicate appearance

that makes the schinkels so beautiful.

i actually have a few pieces that i bought when i had relatively

more money than brains which are mounted - and labelled repro -

to remind me that sometimes it is a pretty close call.

take the lesson and learn from it!
