Rather an unusual portrait-- wearing visor cap (uncommon for most NCOs back then unless in full formal parade dress) with his every day smock rather than with a tunic. Wearing his 198 Jubilee ahead of all the WW2 campaign medals! Nice sports badge there under his Guards badge.
