Guest Rick Research Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 This has got to be the most vivid phraseology I've seen so far in all the research that's come back: "fighting the German fascist fiends in their forsaken lair" When the Awards Record Card was filled out, he was a "vehicle ("mashina" which I'd say is generally used for automobiles???) commander" in the 9th Guards MOTORCYCLE Battalion of the 11th Guards Tank Division. He can't simply have been a motorcyclist-- how does one "command" a motorcycle?
