Has there been anything more learned about these Jettons? What is the translation? Interesting that they were inscribed with a name on the back and then (poorly) scratched out. I wonder why?

What were these jettons issued for?

Does anyone know what the hallmarks indicate? (left facing head and "84")

I think more people than just me would like to know.

    Thank you.

    To start Nice Jeton set.

Its just a guess but could be for a Invalid assoc.

I cant read russian and that should clear up what these were issued for.

Lots of assoc that time period, Feb 3 1912.

the 84 is the silver content mark.

I was looking up Russian Silver hallmarks.

It kind of looks like silversmith Michael Jakovlevich Tarasov mark; Moscow from 1908-1926.

VINLAND30 can you provide some closer up photos of the hallmarks?

The right one is a graduation jetton. It says "Graduation ball" above the date and the name on the reverse is S. Bogdanovitch. Sorry, I cannot figure out the four-letter institution logo on these jettons.

Yes, it's a civilian graduation jetton, commemorating the Graduation ball in 1912. The letters K.R.G.G. may be interpreted as "Kazanskaya Realnaya Gorodskaya Gymnaziya". First letter mean a city, not necessary Kazan - it maybe some other city starting with K.

84 is the silver content. 84 parts silver 16 parts something else. Just like you see 925 on US and English items meaning 925 parts silver (sterling)
