speagle Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Good Day All, Not sure if this is the correct forum but have to start somewhere-right? I would like to get information on how I can get a duplicate Purple Heart citation that my Dad received in Viet Nam. He was a retired US Army 1st Sergeant/Msgt. He passed away in 2000. About a year after his death, my Mom was going through his framed citations, removing them and placing them in a scrapbook. She donated the frames to a local Goodwill store. It was sometime later we realized the PH citation was missing. I believe it got overlooked and was still in a frame that was donated. I have the original awarded PH as well as the orders awarding it to him, but have been unable to get any kind of a response from different agencies asking the original question. If anyone could assist by providing a good contact address, I would be most appreciative. If you like, you may contact me via my regular e-mail: keeneagle@verizon.net Thanks in advance for any assistance. Ed

Ed Start with the National Archives contacts: http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/get-service-records.html If they can't help you, they should be able to refer you to someone who can. Good luck. Doc
