Prussian Landwehr DA 2nd class...oversized

Hello all, can anyone shed any light on this Prussian Landwehr DA? Is this oversized version a manufacturers variation, or perhaps a privately purchased type? I've only seen a couple around, so I'm not even sure how scarce one of these might be...

Nimmergut shows both a 25mm version in copper and a 29mm version in "War Metal". The latter is probably a late and post war version. Of course, all kinds of private "Spangenstucke" versions are possible.

Those big LD2s must be private purchased "Spangenstücke", as the "Prinzengröße" awards are - just the other way.
