andy
Hi I have a small group of Hamburg cross/Hc/EK2 plus certicates but hane concerns over the EK cert. The Hamburg and HC certificates are to Oswald Reich but I am not sure this is what the EK cert reads. Any thoughts? thanks andyhttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_10_2009/post-149-125561549276.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_10_2009/post-149-125561549276.jpg

Guest Rick Research
EK2 Urkunde (printed in occupied France or Belgium-- "æ" not "ä" accent marks) simply (typical!!!) omits his first name and only has his then rank as Oberveterinär. I don't find him in the Honor Rank List OR the 1914 Rank List as a regular OR a resrevist. Who signed off on his Hindenburg document?

In fact it confirms his rank and in this case his occupation. Considering the unit stamp (BTW ) I would say he was the veterinarian for the unit's horses. That's cool. Nice group. Guest Rick Research
Ah, only a Landrat. Sometimes find quite "interesting" fellows if mayors or police presidents.
Guest Rick Research
Aha: Doctor Reich was "invisible." Militärwochenblatt 25 May 1916 Column 2135 shows him as a "war's duration" specialist from Landwehr District Celle, promoted to Stabsveterinär on 3 May 1916: The war years were NOT indexed, and without Glenn's mind bogglingly Herculean transcription of every entry (MILLIONS of lines) in his ongoing work, I'd have never been able to find this for you without previously HAVING his "invisible" rank date. I knew there were "Kriegsdauer" medical officers-- distinguished in uniform by rank pips and the medical emblem on their collars, with no shoulder boards. But I had no idea there were veterinary equivalents-- or if they displayed their temporary rank the same way?
