Pagan Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Hi there, Just picked these up and was quite excited, as its my first mounted set. Oh yeah the Nato ones come with a full set of miniatures as well But the one that got me was the East Timor Medal, this is named and the unit was the logistics regiment, its a beautiful one to look at Just thought I would share, my lady said I looked like a kid at xmas as I was so happy. Thanks Mel from NZ
Tony Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Hello Mel, I didn't know the Kiwis went to E. Timor too, in fact, I haven't a clue where they're stationed. Nice group though. Tony
leigh kitchen Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 The UNPROFOR - would that have been earned as liason rather than as a member of a NZ unit, & is the group named to a RNZAF?
Pagan Posted November 3, 2009 Author Posted November 3, 2009 The UNPROFOR - would that have been earned as liason rather than as a member of a NZ unit, & is the group named to a RNZAF? This is named to RNZLR. The Logistics Regiment. This medal was issued to 5,000 NZer's both military and civilian and was instituted in 2001 so imagine my surprise when I saw these being offered at an estate sale. I know the RNZAF and SAS ones are rare, but there is always hope ;-) Mel
Troy Tempest Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Nice set Mel, and my better half often comments that I look much happier when there is a package to be opened when I get home than I am when I see her!
