    Hello,

Ive just picked up a leather belt with the brass fittings. The S shape brass snake fitting is missing. It has a small semi circular ammunition pouch, the stamp on the back is only partially visible and shows 1908 (London) Ltd. Has a revolver holster that is open at both ends. The gun would be held in place by a leather strap that fits over the weapon and secured onto a brass stud. There is a sturdy truncheon holder complete with top cover and inside that, a standard truncheon. The belt itself has a stamp mark on it T.H.& S. LTD.

I assume that this may be an RIC belt but would appreciate any information on the supplier etc.

    Thanks.................Ross

Any photos to help us Ross? From your description I doubt that it would be RIC, unless you have good provenance. The black leather belt was not used solely by the RIC but was used in other forces as well as military.

    Hi Mervyn,

Thanks for the reply. Ive no reason to doubt the old chap that I had the belt and several other old police items from of its originality. But its surplus to my requirements and hopefully can recoup some of my outlay by selling it. Thanks anyway....Ross
