rusticalex Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 For once I have identified an item myself...I must be improving! However, if anyone has any idea of age of this item, I'd appreciate any pointers. Also, is it rare, and what sort of value might it have? Thank you. Alex
leigh kitchen Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 (edited) Looks like a modern item, not Brtish, & ndoes it actually read XXXVII (38) Hussars? Indian? Pakistani? It seems out of place with the other Brit things you've been posting. Edited November 21, 2009 by leigh kitchen

Thanks for spotting my mistake Leigh! You are right about it not fitting in with the other stuff I have - visually it does look more modern! Guess I'll see what anyone else might come up with! Thanks Alex
leigh kitchen Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I'm not sure I'm doing too well either - I've never heard of Indian or Pakistan Hussars. There is a possibilty of it being a fashion item.
Stuart Bates Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I did a search on the 38th Hussars and came up with 6 items that lead nowhere except to this forum http://www.btshattereddawn.com/forums/index.php?topic=985.0 I am no gamer but I think the belt is merchandise from the game Shatterdawn by BattleTech. It certainly looks new. Stuart
Blackadder Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Hi - a much later addition! I have a very fine quality naval-style double breasted jacket with XXXVIII Hussars buttons in the same design. Needless to say, I haven't found any proper reference and so I was much intrigued by this item. I haven't even discovered any cosplay referring any gaming or fantasy media. Nor were there any labels or marks on the jacket. Richard
