Hello, Can anyone help with identifing this photo of a WW1 Austrian Pilot or Crew Member?

    What I know:

    Rank: Oberleutnant

Family name could be Udd, Kerr, or possibly Mc Kay from other photos in group.

    Decorations:

Bar: Sigmun Landus gilt (FJ) + Bar?

    Sigmun Landus silver (FJ)

    Karl Troops Cross

    1873 General Service Medal

    Button Hole:

Officer’s Cross of Merit with crown (gold or silver) on War Ribbon

Bavarian Order of War Merit 3rd gilt with swords and crown

    Badge:

Austrian Pilot’s Badge, or general flying badge

    Saw in local antique shops:

Bavarian Order of War Merit 3rd gilt with swords and crown (no ribbon)

Sigmun Landus gilt (FJ) traded to Yas no ribbon

Sigmun Landus silver (FJ) traded to Yas no ribbon

    Any Help would be appreciated.

"traded to Yas" as in THE Yas- the man who founded OMSA?

Yes, S. G. Yasinitsky, OMSA #1. He was a good friend, and I will miss him. He died about 3 months ago.

    wow!

Yas was one of the greats.

I have the MVO3xcrown list and nothing A-H shows up.

However, are you certain thats' a third class? Could it be a 4th?

Yes Yash was one of the greats! As for the MVO3xcrown, I saw one for sale here in Eureka (pop 30,000). But it could be a fourth if it comes with a crown.

    Weird how things pop up.

Back to your photograph....are you certain that is a 3rd class? There is NO KuK Hauptman or Major on my list with swords and crown. However, a 4th class presents a number of possibilities.

I believe the Austrian Officer is a Lieutenant. Yes it could be a fourth Class. Any Austrian Lieutenants get the fourth Class? Don't go by the "possible family names" they were photos in the same pile as this photo, and had names.

Thanks, I really appreciate your help.
