Guest Rick Research
I like the consistent quality of the awards, but am a bit concerned about the Westwall and long service being in reversed precedence at this late (1942+) date when that was typical of 1940 confusion.Have you flashed this with a blacklight? Can we see the reverse, please?[attachmentid=19541]
Gary B
Hi Rick, The bar does not glow anywehre under a blacklight. The ribbons have the slightest bit of soiling as one would expect on a bar in this condition. Additionally, there is the slightest bit of rub wear to the highlights of the blue ribbon.Attached is a picture of the reverse. Let me know what you think.Gary B Edited December 18, 2005 by Gary B
Guest Rick Research
No glow, yaaay!!! Things have gotten SO bad these days, first reaction is always Doubting Thomas! Great early/Buntmetall KVK2X and East Medal, nice 1939 bronze Westwall, looks like a wartime zinky RAD 4... all consistent and with the exception of the mounting precedence error, perfect. The backing, pin and catch appear to all be brass, which is not the no-no for MEDAL bars that it is for RIBBON bars-- and you should be able to see whether the hinge and catch solder is old and dark or new and fresh by peaking under the backing.[attachmentid=19553]NICE bar to a frontline R.A.D. member! Stogieman
Looks like a wonderful, original bar with a tough to find RAD in Bronze to me!
