Jesse Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) I'd like to hear what anyone knows about this Starglobe. It has no maker marks but is marked 1950. Edited January 11, 2010 by Jesse

Jesse Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 hello i think i see this or the same on ebay i think its from after the war no kriegsmarine the paint is also from after the was i hope you dont pay toomatch best regards g Thanks for the reply Gunther, Can you tell me why you think it may be after the war ? I too obviously have my assumptions. The paint for example ? I'm surprised to see these used after the war. The writing on it is in German. I'm trying to think of countries that would use this. Thanks Much - Jesse

I think that the paint or "varnish" of the globe is newer or unused. I havn't bought them; but was entertaining it. I'm really just finding out more about these peices. Very interesting and unique items that seem antiquated for use even during that time period; but obviously were not. A highly technichal submarine in contrast to an almost ancient form of "star gazing" that had a functional use is intriguing to me. Very attractive peices. Thanks for your input - Jesse
