Chris Boonzaier Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Happy to post the following.... have had it for some time, but I did some extra research and an pleased with the new write up. Te 89th Division, specifically the 354th Regiment twice lost large amounts of men to mustard gas by occupying areas under enemy fire. After the war it was pointed out they did not need to occupy it. They could have kept the enemy out by gassing it themselves.... http://www.kaiserscross.com/40312/42469.html
IrishGunner Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 (edited) Still the most beautiful medal ever...IMHO. And an incredible story. Exceptional writing. This should be published. Edited January 30, 2010 by IrishGunner

Hannibal Rex Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Nice WW1 heart! I've only collected a few WW1 hearts, and no gas woundings or deaths (that I've found). I've had a few British Commonwealth et al Stars/Star Groupings with a gas victim, but nothing from here in the states.
