Paul C Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 This is an interesting pci of a police officer from Hamburg. I have his 3 [place medal bar and wish I had this uniform and awards. Can anyone ID the ribbon which is the 4th from the left? Also what rank would this be?
HeikoGrusdat Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Hi Paul, can you get a bit closer to the ribbon N°4 ? Nice pic with a colonial elephant !!! Heiko
HeikoGrusdat Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 forgot........ what is on his 3place medal bar???
Guest Rick Research Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Revier-Hauptmann der Schutzpolizei... looks like. The double underlay on his straps indicates what we'd call a precinct officer. From what we know of his life, wartime Polizei-Reserve. NOT a career police officer, must be "bumps" up from his "Leutnant aD" WW1 discharge rank. That looks like the civil service Treudienstkreuz in last place. NO clue what 4th is since he had no ribboned we know about later than his Hindenburg Cross!
Paul C Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 best I can do on the close up of the ribbon bar.
Guest Rick Research Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 PERFECT!!! That makes me rethink his uniform/branch-- 4th ribbon is the Weimar era Prussian award for volunteer FIREMEN: black and white. Definitely a Treudienst civil service cross on there. What I was taking to be a DARK finished brown and green, lime green piped tunic is probably black and blue, carmine piped Feuerschutzpolizei!
