Joe,

I couldn't open your link but I did look at the auction. As to authenticity, that is anyones guess. With the auction item apparently put in the shadows intentionally I would pass. The Austrians have used green cloth backing on their edelweiss, they still do actually, but that doesn't prove anything one way or the other. The backing cloth looks too new and pristine to have been sewn to a cap 60 years ago. Probably why the photo was in the dark.
