Here is an image of the name on the back of the u-boat clasp it is not a very good image.

Would this writing show up under a black light ?or does anyone have any ideas how I can

highlight it better?

If backed into a corner and forced to guess, I'd say the last name is either Hall or Hull--

so this may be the "it's mine, paws off" signature of your soldier who took it as a souvenir.

Hello Everyone

I have tried to copy the last name it is written with pencil on the award and under good light you can make it out better.I do not know that there is a line through the one letter it is very faint..
