Hauptmann Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) My next door neighbor held a garage/moving sale today (she's moved to the retirement apartments two blocks over) and amongst other things (non-militaria) I picked this up for $1. Couldn't pass it up. Have always wanted one and at that price I figured what they hey. Here's some info on the history of these cans: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerrycan Some info on markings: http://www.olive-dra...an_markings.php Edited May 7, 2010 by Hauptman

Guest Darrell Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 When I grew up on the farm, dad had about 25 of these laying around. Not sure if he ever put anything in them or where they came from ... would be interesting and mind boggling to estimate how many were made during WW2 alone.
