Noor Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Hi, Here is my first ribbon bar from Kingdom of Thailand. Very modern and I am more then sure - very very common, but still nice to have. Would love to see more bars from this country. Also when they start using ribbon bars? If anyone have some older ones, please post them up! - Order of the White Elephant - Order of the Crown of Thailand - Commemorative Medal on the Occasion of the 84th Birthday Anniversary of HRH Somdej Phra Srinagarindra Boromarajajonani - ? - ? - Commemorative Medal on the Occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Accession to the Throne of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej I can't find info of two ribbons on the bar....
Hugh Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 # 4 appears to be The Order of Symbolic Propitiousness Ramakeerati Boy Scout Citation Medal (Special Class) I've seen # 5 but can't put a name to it tonight. Hugh
ThaiDave Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Noor, Some updates: 1 - Order of the White Elephant, 4th Class 2 - Order of the Crown of Thailand, 4th Class 4 - Commemorative Medal on the Occasion of the 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Dec 5, 1999 5 - Commemorative Medal on the Occasion of the 72nd Birthday Anniversary of HM Queen Sirikit BTW, The Order of Symbolic Propitiousness Ramakeerati Boy Scout Citation Medal (Special Class) has a green edge instead of blue. It has a higher order of precedence than the OWE, 4th Class. Rgds, Dave

Noor Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 Thank you Hugh and Dave! One more question.... who could be the owner of this set... I am quessing it's more likelly civil clerk instead military (missing proper army awards?)? also this piece came with the ribbon bar:
Hugh Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I agree, almost certainly civilian. I've never seen a Thai military man with that length of service with so few ribbons. Dave will have to comment on the device on your separate White Elephant ribbon. Best, Hugh

Dave will have to comment on the device on your separate White Elephant ribbon. Best, Hugh Yes, civil sounds good, or police. I understand that the Order of the White Elephant and Order of the Crown grades typically come with rank ? Some people will also wear just a single award as the second item. You see this occasionally in government offices (also look around when you arrive at Thai immigration upon arrival at the airport next time). The Order of Symbolic Propitiousness Ramakeerati Boy Scout Citation Medal (Special Class) is quite a rare senior scout award - I've never even seen one, or a ribbon, or even a picture except in the government medal books (and web). (There could be one in the Grand Palace Museum) Rgds, Dave
