Troy Tempest Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Good morning gents, I received a question from someboy who bought one of my 1914 EKIIs, who pointed out that the tiny cross on top of the crown was missing. I had a look at all my other EKIIs and discovered that about half of them did not have clear crosses on top of the crown. Some had a sphere like shape, yet all are magnetic, and all are maker marked. I had no answer for him, have I sold him a dud, and in return, is half my collection fake?
gregM Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Chalk it up to artistic license on behalf of the Ek manufacture or to the quality of the core castings / stampings. Few of mine have well defined crosses either. You could always post pictures here for more opinions.
Troy Tempest Posted September 25, 2010 Author Posted September 25, 2010 Thanks Greg! I suggested it may have been a casting flaw, but wasn't sure so thought I'd consult the experten! I didn't really think there would be a point to faking marked magnetic 1914 EKIIs :)
