Scowen Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Good morning Sergey. An interesting & controversial badge you have posted. This is considered by many collectors to be a fantasy badge based on the very rare 3/204 Himmighausen badge (see below) which was shown in the period Assmann catalogue. A very big RAD collector in Germany named Michael Jonas believes that the 4/305 Braunschweig badges are genuine prototype examples, however many other collectors now feel that they are fantasy/fake. Thanks for posting your badge, I hope that you will show more of your collection. Cheers Don
Nick Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Yes a controversial badge, made even more controversial by the quality and age that some of them show. Some are quite clearly modern fakes, others look very convincing.
srn Posted October 9, 2010 Author Posted October 9, 2010 Thanks for your answers, friends! Don, thanks separately for the interesting information! I know that the sign is considered disputable, as well as some other signs. Disputes will go still very long. The arguments are both at supporters, and at opponents. Personally this variant of a sign is pleasant to me. Looks very convincingly. Execution corresponds to that period. Copies of this sign come across to me. They are easy for distinguishing.Best regards Sergey.
