Kev in Deva
Bar 4 of 8:- Faded but still discernible:- 1. R.P.R. Medal of military Merit II Class. 2. R.P.R. Liberation from the Fascist Yoke Medal. 3. R.P.R. Order of Labor - 1st Class. Woven ribbons under plastic sheet, with brass convex backing plate. Definite old school R.P.R. period piece. The owner probably would have been entitled to have a Soviet "Victory over Germany" Medal. Kevin in Deva

Kev in Deva
Bar 6 of 8:- Possibly from the same original owner as bar 5 of 8!! 1. R.S.R. Order of Labor - 3rd Class. 2. R.S.R. Order of the Star of the Socialist Republic of Romania, I Class 3. R.P.R. Liberation from the Fascist Yoke Medal. Spot the slight difference between the two? A miniature metal emblem set into the inside of the perspex with painted ribbon background Aluminum backing plate. Kevin in Deva.
Kev in Deva
Bar 7 of 8:- 1. R.P.R. 40th Anniversary of the Romanian Communist Party Medal. 2. R.S.R. 50th Anniversary of the Romanian Communist Party Medal. These have been very professionally mounted as they are the single woven ribbons as issued with the original medals complete with their backing plates, apparently with the pins removed and then set into a recessed rectangular brass backing plate with perspex over the top. Kev in Deva
Bar 8 of 8:- Last but not least, a single mini ribbon bar for: 1. R.S.R. Hero of the New Agrarian Revolution, or 2. R.S.R. 40th Anniversary of proclamation of the Republic Medal, Woven cloth over convex metal backing plate with clasp. Greg Collins
I believe the last, single ribbon is, as you said, the R.S.R. 40th Anniversary of proclamation of the Republic Medal. I don't believe the Hero of the New Agrarian Revolution could be worn as a ribbon... convention demanded the bearer wear the whole thing, more or less like any other "Hero of..." award. You could be right Greg, however, as is evident by the ribbon bars and period pictures the Romanians military and civil seem to enjoy flouting regulation. Greg Collins
You are, of course, absolutely right, Kevin. Don't know why I keep forgetting that important fact.
JohnJArcher
Hello chaps, Would anyone be able to advise where I would be able to have a bespoke ribbon bar created, such as the Perspex ones above. I have a set of 7 medals, ranging from Uganda, France and Russia. I cannot find anyone that could create a bar as the ribbons are not available. Therefore a printed option is the only way forward I feel. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks indeed, in advance, John Edited January 21, 2015 by JohnJArcher
