Robin Lumsden
Not to be confused with the fakes (right plate here), often seen on eBay. This is the first original I have ever seen for sale.

coldstream
Robin Could you explain what to look for regarding real and fake examples please. Nice to see you're moving away from skulls to whole skeletons now by the way Simon
Robin Lumsden
Robin Could you explain what to look for regarding real and fake examples please. Simon Hello Simon. The detailing isn't so good on the fake. There are several differences ......... two highlighted here. The motto on the fake is solid, and the eyes of the skull are a bit 'blobby'. Biggest differences are the colour of the design (more purple-blue on the fake) and the fact that on the fake all the pattern is printed over the glaze, not under it. Original is to the left here, with fake on the right.
coldstream
Robin Many thanks for that, like most fakes when pictured side by side the differences in quality are obvious, but I've never seen one of these myself, so needed to ask. I would imagine this is an expensive item? Simon
Robin Lumsden
I would imagine this is an expensive item? The original was found for 480 Euros. I've seen the fakes selling for over 200 Euros each, on eBay.
